Essential technical skills:

· Extensive use of Cursor and Claude Code (or equivalent) for pipeline code, automation, and AFA-aligned updates.

· Strong Python for automation and integration with the squad’s Python services; polyglot literacy for Bash, Go, or TypeScript in pipelines, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or partner repositories.

· Deep CI/CD experience in cloud environments: pipeline design, secrets in CI, staged deployments, and release hygiene.

· Ability to review and troubleshoot Terraform plan/apply in pipelines; familiarity with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions; Kubernetes/AKS awareness for deploy workflows.

· Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or equivalent for pipeline health and basic application signals.

· Express handover content as versioned, reviewable repository artifacts.

Agile mindset and soft skills:

· Pragmatic and artifact-driven; optimize for durable handover through Git and AFAs rather than knowledge silos that do not survive handover or static documents.

· Collaborate across architects, developers, and platform owners without owning long-term run-state.

· Time-box work and transition pipeline and release ownership explicitly to receiving engineering squads.

· Be transparent about what must move next into rules, skills, or platform automation after handover.

Desirable additional skills

· Experience handing over pipelines and services between teams; FinOps or build-cost awareness.

· Contributions to AFA Internal Developer Platform, testing-strategy-in-CI, or observability rules and skills.

· Helm or GitOps-style deploy patterns from pipelines.
